Geno! Thanks for letting me hear a sneak preview of your next CD. It's another great one from the Hardest Working Hammond Organist on the scene, Gene Ludwig! Like you say; "Feelin' the Hammond is almost more important than hearing it"
Talk soon...

Gene,
You are looking great. Me and Rich down here are really happy about whats happening for you. We always had to slap ourselves in the face in belief that we were able to hang with you for the short time we did. Your a good man....and of course "The Greatest B3 player on the planet". Merry Christmas to you and your lovely wife. Still hope to come and see you gig one of these days again.
I still think of the time we couldn't get that Porta B Jimmy Smith was to use, at Montreaux, Switzerland, working and I broke that connector trying to connect it in a hurry.(We were with the Russians that day) Boy did I get my butt chewed for that by the main man in the basement at Montreaux. Riccola!
We are still plugin away down here. Keep on swingin.
Sincerely,
Ralph

Hey Gene!
It's been like 30 YEARS or more since I used to go up to the Hill District with my parents and hear you.
I can still remember you hanging with my Dad in the game room in McMurray - you on the B3 and him on his sax. Fun times!
Glad to see you're still doin' what you love doin'.

Gene:
Just saw you last night at Guliffty's with my nephew, Shawn Purcell. WOW! You continue to amaze me and every other pianist I know with your technical excellence and unbelievable creativity and musicianship. You are truly an inspriational performer, yet one of the nicest musicians I know; no ego; no attitude; just great playing.
Thank you for bringing Shawn Purcell back home for 2 nights. He has developed into one of the finest guitarists anywhere, and that is not his proud uncle speaking, but the lifetime, fulltime musician that I am. What a pleasure to hear the 2 of you on the same stage. DO IT AGAIN!!
Thanks, Gene
Rick Purcell

Hey brother, it was great running into you today, at the Monroeville Giant Eagle. I've been a fan of yours ever since I use to sneak into Joe Westray's Plaza to hear and see the musicians. I've been in love with the B-3 ever since. I've only recorded a few tunes with a Hammond. I hope the 'Good Lord' will grant me time and opportunity to do a whole album with a 'cat' like you, someday! Peace.

If Gene comes to BAKER'S or ANYWHERE near Detroit, we will be there. Any dates set for Detroit?
Keep it up.
